Common Questions

Where the gear goes

The questions customers actually type — and the questions they now ask an AI assistant. Answered directly, and marked up so the answer can be quoted.

Which cameras go where on a drilling rig?

On a land rig, Royal typically covers the drill floor from the doghouse (board camera), the rig floor, the substructure, the mud pumps, the shakers, the pipe yard and backyard, and the site entry — plus internet and networking at the company man shacks.

What Royal equipment goes subsea?

Subsea, Royal supplies trash caps and net guards fabricated to specification, and Pro-Strand clean out brushes for internal wellhead cleaning, including ROV-operated configurations.

Can one camera system cover a whole pad?

A Virtual PTZ camera produces two to four independent side-by-side views from one camera, which covers several areas at once; larger pads combine fixed cameras, turrets, and Virtual PTZ.
